OnePlus deploys its own version of Android Lollipop – Tune

One OnePlus holders can now replace CyanogenMod with an alpha version of the OS manufacturer based on the latest version of Android.

OnePlus begins 2015 by offering owners of its phones a taste of a new OS that will (perhaps) the standard for the company. Therefore, it is possible to download the new OS today, but installation will delete the entire contents of the target device.

The days of CyanogenMod on OnePlus devices seem to be numbered.

Difficult for the moment to predict what the strategy intends to adopt OnePlus about OnePlus One or its next devices. The company may decide to maintain CyanogenMod certainly the OS that justified buying the phone with many of its users, or to focus on its own version of Android.

Note that the Chinese company is facing legal proceedings initiated by Micromax on the introduction OnePlus One market in India. Essentially, Micromax has partnered with Cyanogen for the exclusive use of CyanogenMod on the Indian market. An injunction preventing the sale of OnePlus One in India has nevertheless been lifted recently, and a final decision on the matter will soon be made by the court.

It is obvious that the efforts OnePlus on its own operating system have largely been caused by this situation. Anyway, CyanogenMod days on OnePlus devices seem to be numbered.
