Antennas 4G: Free Mobile confirms its lead in SFR. Orange … – ZDNet France

Coverage remains a key marketing argument for selling 4G and coverage obviously requires the deployment of 4G and ignition materials or antennas. On this ground, ANFR, the national agency of frequencies monthly book review the situation operator operator.

In early May, palmares operators SFR was upset with a doubled first Free Mobile times. A month later, if the gap has slightly reduced the troublemaker before the operator remains red square.

Specifically, Free 3678 boasts 4G supports service is 251 more in a month , against 3475 for Numericable / SFR, which has turned 305 new media over the period.

Far ahead, Orange continues to lead the race with 7480 service supports (96) Bouygues Telecom follows claiming 6637 active supports (47).

However, the number of antennas provides only part of the cover. Last observatory ARCEP allows to see a little clearer. Orange and Bouygues Telecom are held in a handkerchief
respectively 72 and 71% coverage of the population (and 22 and 23%
  territory).

SFR rises to 53% while Free, despite a rate of
deployments supported antennas is far behind with 33%
population and 3% of the territory.

So, with less active supports, Numericable / SFR is well ahead Free in coverage of the population, thanks to the frequencies it has in the band of 800 Mhz but also thanks to its 4G roaming agreement with Bouygues Telecom.
