33 years after the bombing of the Rue des Roses in Paris, the alleged mastermind of the attack, Zouhair Muhammad Hassan Khalid al-Abassi was arrested there a few days in Jordan, under a mandate international arrest initiated by the Paris judge Marc Trevidic. The man, aged 62, was released on bail and remains under surveillance and could soon be extradited to France.
“For my client and for other civil parties, c is a trial that is approaching. It is a strong and important judicial response, as it announces something and somewhere they expect their due “, says Martine Bouccara Me, a family lawyer victim.
In the month of March, three former members of the Abu Nidal terrorist group, suspected of being the perpetrators of the attack had been identified. One now lives in Norway, the other in Ramallah in the Palestinian Territories. The third, Zouhair al-Abbasi has been arrested in Jordan which is currently the only country to have responded positively to the request of the French justice.
