Free 4G coverage remains well below that of its … – JDN

Free Mobile has certainly more 4G antennas SFR. But as population coverage of the territory, it remains far behind its three competitors.

Certainly, the figures show that ANFR Free Account June 1, more mobile units that Numericable / SFR – 3678 against 3475 – and therefore retains the lead he had taken there one month for the first time doubling its competitor. But firstly Orange (7480) and Bouygues Telecom (6637) are far ahead and, secondly, the number of antennas is not the only element to take into account in assessing the coverage of an operator mobile.

In this case, as shown in the last observatory Arcep, which dates from December 2014, Orange and Bouygues Telecom are leading the race with 72% and 71% coverage the population (22% and 23% of the territory). SFR and still 53% of the population (14% of the territory), while Free has beautiful plant antennas faster than its rivals, it remains at 3% of the territory and 33% of the population. Why such a gap in coverage in spite of a number as close to antenna? Because SFR not only has frequencies in the 800 MHz band, which offer more coverage but also a 4G roaming agreement with Bouygues Telecom.
