Steam Machines: release on October 16 pre-orders have … – Clubic

In March, shortly after the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Valve has released details of a Steam Machines related manufacturers said machines. Today the company goes much further by evoking the marketing of the first models to 16 October 2015 and even open pre-orders on the official Steam site.

Even better, pre-orders do not concern only Steam Machines and actually include all the hardware that Valve intends to propose around Steam. There will be of course many machines, but also the famous Steam Controller – a highly configurable controller supposed to replace keyboard and mouse – and the Steam Link . This box must allow disseminate the contents of a PC or a Steam Machine throughout the home network and stream … for example on the living room TV.


Beware, however, it should be noted that the availability to October 16 will be guaranteed only for preorders. Resellers will only be provided until November. It would then issue of 10 November, particularly in North America.

Finally, note that the Steam Machines offered by the various manufacturers are very different from each other in terms of embedded components. Thus, the two machines currently highlighted by Steam – Alienware and Syber – are offered at 449 and 499 dollars. In this price range, the Intel Core i3 processor is supported by 4 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GPU, HDD 500 GB … and steamos, the operating system designed by Valve.
