More reliable Android iOS for the first time, but not by Google – 01net.com

The legendary reliability of iOS questioned. A comparative study between the mobile operating system from Apple and Android, shows that for the first time it has been more reliable. Conducted in the second quarter of 2016, it reveals that the iOS failure rate was 58% against 35% for Android.

Established by the consulting firm Blancco, the study shows that it is mostly third-party applications that cause crashes iOS at 65%.

and not least because the less reliable is Snapchat (17% of crashes), followed by Instagram (14%) and Facebook (9%). The two main reasons are unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network (11%) and problems with headphones (4%).

the most reliable applications on Android

in terms of Android, the two main problems come from the app crashes Camera and unable to recharge their smartphone (10% each). The podium is completed by insensitivity of the touch screen problems (7%).

third-party applications therefore seem more reliable on Android (23% of them planted) on iOS where the rate rises to 50%. Yet, looking at the results in detail, we see that Google is certainly not responsible for these good figures. The Top 3 application crashes indeed come directly from those developed by the company. Google Play services (12%), contacts synchronization (5%) and problem Address Book (5%)

This does not prevent Android to stand iOS front in terms of reliability during the second quarter 2016. It will be interesting to see the results of the next quarters to see if updates iOS and Android that will occur in the fall overturn the hierarchy again.
