Facebook could develop a dedicated health platform – Mobile France

The field of connected health is booming. After giants like Apple, Samsung or even Google is now the turn of Facebook to focus on health.

According to Reuters, the group is currently working on developing a platform around health. It is currently only at the brainstorming phase, where all ideas are considered. Facebook has already met with entrepreneurs and experts in the medical community for this project.

If Facebook is developing a platform for health, it could be used so that users can talk about their disease or find support from other sick people. The dedicated health platform would also be used as a preventive measure with tips for wellness and healthier patterns of living.

However, if Facebook leads this project to fruition, it may qualify for an application that is not under the Facebook label. This is the new trend of the group as we have seen with applications such as Whatsapp, Slingshot or Instagram, although they belong to the group.

Facebook wanted to enter the field of health for some years. However, the project was set aside to focus on other products of the group. However, it could not be created, mainly for reasons of confidentiality. The group shall also ensure that user data will not be sold, including the pharmaceutical industry.
