NASA unveils Kepler 452b, the first “real” Earth twin – Le Point

This is an extraordinary discovery that NASA has announced. The Kepler space telescope has identified the first exoplanet with similar size of Earth and located in the habitable zone of its star. So there might be on the surface of liquid water, so precious for the emergence of life.

Located 1400 light years away in the constellation Cygnus, which this planet radius only 60% larger than the Earth in orbit 385 days around a star which, though distant, is very similar to our sun. This star only 10% bigger and 20% brighter than our star, however, is much older since it would be about 6 billion years.

If fascinating, but if remote

Dubbed Kepler 452b, this new extrasolar planet, which scientists believe it is, like the Earth, a rocky planet, thus proves an excellent candidate to house perhaps a form of life that would have potentially had about 1.4 billion years longer to develop it! Only problem, given the great distance that the Earth is 2.0, exploration seems totally out of reach. Since it would take to reach several million years

Another downside:. Kepler 452b holds up a mirror a disturbing strand. For if it is indeed, as scientists believe, a rocky body, then this world is to experience a major climate upheaval. He who hangs on the nose of our Earth when his Sun ages, becoming brighter and more … hot.
