Tim Cook: do not worry for the iPhone – ZDNet France

Financial analysts are frustrated. Imagine: $ 49.6 billion quarterly revenues (+ 33%), 10.7 billion in profits (+ 37%), $ 203 billion in the bank, an iPhone which generated 59% of revenue more than in 2014 …

And yet, despite these results, the markets have punished sulk and traded as Apple. What For ? For multiple reasons deemed disappointing forecasts for the next quarter, the dependence of the iPhone and the rise of the Chinese market (where sales of smartphones inhibit)

iPhone.: even years of innovation coming

It is a fact, and that is also not new: in the 3rd quarter, Apple accounted for 63% of its revenue from smartphone sales. It is, however, a few points less than in previous quarters (70%)

The question is therefore:. How Apple will he reach maintain growth while the smartphone market is entering a slowdown (+ 11% in 2015, against 27% in 2014)? Tim Cook, Apple CEO, has devoted much of his speech to explain why the outlook was still encouraging for the iPhone.

So for the leader, the innovation potential is enormous and the iPhone is still in its infancy. “We have done exceptionally well regardless of the way you look” thus ensures Tim Cook. Even if the manufacturer has delivered 47.5 million phones, about 2 million less than analysts’ forecasts.

27% of iPhone customers have a 6

And to confirm, the firm claims to have recorded growth of iPhone sales than the overall trend of the smartphone market, and that both in Western Europe, in China and South Korea .

Another figure justifying optimism for leaders: only 27% of iPhone users have gone on the last model (6 or 6 Plus). The potential for renewal is there and he has enough support sales. “This is a very positive sign … there remains much room for version upgrades” judge therefore Cook

additional satisfaction Reason:. During the last quarter, the rate of customers switched from Android to iPhone has never been as high as Apple. The key to this success is the increase in the size of the screen of the smartphone.
