Planning a trip can sometimes look like a puzzle. The French average consult a dozen sites to find the right destination, the flight and the hotel suited … a search that can quickly become complicated smartphone. Also to simplify their lives, Google offers a new tool. Destination
“We wanted to create an intuitive tool and add a playful dimension in search of a vacation spot” , explained Noam Ben-Haim, Group Product Manager at Google in the presentation. In fact, the navigation is simple and pleasant ergonomics.
To see the tool destinations appear, simply type the word “destination” followed by a country name in the address bar any browser of a smartphone Android or iOS, provided its default search engine is Google, of course. The results provided by said function then appear at the top of page.
Different cities are then proposed, along with a photo, a brief description, a Google map and estimate the cost of living (flight + hotel). These suggestions can be modified by changing a few criteria such as the number of travelers, dates of stay and interests. A search on Greece first traces the city of Athens and Santorini. By adding the criteria July, boating and a budget of 800 euros per person, the Ionian islands back in first place
once in the profile, there are two tabs. The first, Discover, proposes to explore the city and provides access to pictures, to more comprehensive information sheet, a list of places not to be missed and advice on the best time to get there.
