First “Martian” images of the Indian MOM probe – KultureGeek

We learned there are some days that the India had achieved a real feat by managing to reach the orbit of March with its first probe, MOM ( Mars Orbiter Mission ). This first test became first success was built on more financial and logistical means incommensurate ( $ 58 million only ) with those USA or even China had set up (which in the case of China has not had the expected results since the trial in 2012 ended in failure.)

 MOM March 2

Region of Syrtis Mayor; detail across 376 meters

The ISRO , the Indian space agency is to publish the first pictures of Mars taken by DOM probe, and although the quality of these pictures is a bit fuzzy nowhere near shooting extremely detailed American and European probes, it remains a real feat given the weakness of the means implemented. The sky of the red planet is beginning to be a little crowded since a few days before the arrival of MOM in the Martian orbit, the American orbiter Maven had already arrived on site.
