Google passes the garment connected – TF1

This is a partnership that will make a big splash, but it must be confessed that we do not necessarily captures the contours nor the genuine interest at first sight. At the conference Google I / O for developers, the US giant announced a partnership with the Levi Strauss. Their goal: to make clothing online, including Levi’s jeans.

a time when any object to be connected, often arises the question of how this will truly revolutionize our daily lives. Omnipresent in our life, Google now wants to tackle our look that will obviously be connected to our Android smartphone. Until now, there was talk of particular tees connected to measure their heart rate or the number of steps, sports combinations work better for his abs or dresses that were more in LED decoration in the utility. While the garment will bring connected made in Google? Whether it is time to wash your pants? If you do not get too hot or too cold? Or to detect in advance any disease? None of that!

a call from his jeans, it’s coming soon?

The “Jacquard Project” (named after the French inventor of a famous loom) will allow to create “interactive textiles”, combining traditional materials with conductive son , all woven on traditional industrial trades. The son may be visible or not according to the desire of the creator. Project manager at Google, Emre Karagozler indicated that these fabrics will be “stretchable and washable, as any tissue.”

Who says says interactive necessarily connected with functionality. With this new kind of fabric you will be able … to control lights or computer screens by simply touching your clothing, be it a dress, jacket or shorts or even make phone calls or send messages. Related to small electronic circuits no bigger than a button, the son will be able to differentiate a simple press of a finger scan, Google promises.

The brand Kaporal was one of the very first to go into battle by creating jeans connected with the startup Buzcard (price: € 99). But with a different functionality. The garment features a QR Code that contains in fact the business card of the owner of the site Buzcard. More social aims of product which then allows to be added by a party (not necessarily carrying jeans) to social networks in his address book, etc. And if you make an update to the site, all your contacts (or your choice) receive it.
