Windows 10 Mobile: Microsoft will check for updates – JDN

Windows 10 Mobile have a update process equivalent to that of the other branches of the OS. A process that telecom operators can no longer influence.

With the Windows Phone, smartphone vendors could eventually decide to bypass certain updates to the Microsoft OS. Freedoms that have been taken in the past several operators, like Verizon or AT & T, for some phone models offered to their client. This has created a small fragmentation of Windows Phone, certainly not commensurate with that of the Android ecosystem.

During his Ignite event earlier this month, Microsoft said that the continuous update process of Windows 10 would be applied to all versions of the OS, including cut for phones. Like other branches of Windows 10, upgrades of Windows Mobile, which will be applied to all, will contain both security patches and new features. This information comes as Microsoft has just unveiled the different versions of Windows 10. OS in future have seven. Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Mobile (eg Windows Phone), Pro Windows 10, Windows 10 Enterprise, Education Windows 10, Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise IoT Core (read our article: Windows 10, the various editions of the future unveiled OS).

While the release of Windows 10 is expected this summer, Microsoft announced that holders of licenses for Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 will benefit from free (and for one year ). A qualified offer interesting will also be offered to holders of pirated or non-compliant licenses.
