A policeman in court for hitting a person in custody – TF1

He admitted the facts but was not suspended. An officer from Le Mans on suspicion of hitting a man custody , was referred to the criminal court for aggravated violence, said Wednesday a judicial source. The policeman, the Justice has decided to continue Tuesday after receiving the findings of a survey by the General Inspectorate of the Police National (IGPN), will appear before the Criminal Court of Le Mans on October 1, said the prosecutor, confirming a report in the daily Le Maine Libre.

The facts, filmed by CCTV, dating back to early August. According to CCTV footage, the police officer gives a “kick and three slaps” a man placed in solitary detention, told AFP Jean-François Duchesne, district secretary of the Independent Professional Police Federation (FPIP). According to him, this man experienced police and arrested “under the influence of drink driving”, refused to submit to police checks and “repeatedly insulted” the police. The pathologist who examined was prescribed six days of temporary interruption of work (ITT).

The officer is currently on sick leave. Jean-François Duchesne, in which the officer had previously been “no problem” in fifteen years of service, laments that “wants to make an example” through this rare reference to corrections. For its part, the prefecture of Sarthe “requested the suspension of the person to his police superiors”, confirmed to AFP the office of the Prefect.
