This weekend, CNES gathered at the Toulouse Space Centre Most scientists involved Philae Mission to establish a list of sites for landing on the nucleus of Comet 67P / Churyumov-Gerasimenko, scheduled for mid-November, if all goes well.

The final site should be seen between 12 and 14 October. They are briefly detailed on the website of CNES.

As for the landing of Philae on the comet is scheduled for mid-November, when the comet will be about 450 million kilometers from the Sun. That is to say before the activity of the nucleus reaches levels that could jeopardize the mission. For researchers, the conditions will allow the lander to perform all operations and various measures provided in situ .
