Tears tear fluid, a reflection of our inner state, running down our cheeks. They are normally secreted by reflex (very wide beam of emotions from the deepest sorrow to the most unspeakable joy) but can also be feigned (one thinks of the comedians of all time and mourners in ancient times) or a witness of the body’s defense reaction (sulfinylpropane attacking the eye when you peel an onion remains the most emblematic example par excellence)
Did you know, however, that if we have all their molecular composition differs from person to person, much like fingerprints, so similar at first glance? The Dutch photographer, Maurice Mikkers strong scientific observation, sifted through a microscope also officiating as camera, the infinitesimal to the infinite beauty of it which is a great first shots and all attest to a work of craftsmanship: You can find the (watch the eyes!) on the site Medium.com
! Maurice Mikkers did not have to look far to recruit volunteers and collect in a micropipette extract their tears: he simply uses his friends who lend glad this game but the scientific basis for artistic purposes! He then proceeded well before the pictures: you have to wait for the tear (one at a time by shooting), deposited on a microscope slide, finally crystallizes (salinity is one of its fundamental properties) and can lend itself to a “shooting” star!
