Defender of Rights calls for ban on rubber bullets during demonstrations.

The Defender, which replaces since 2011 the Ombudsman responsible for defend the rights of citizens not only deal with governments but also has special prerogatives in the promotion of child rights, the fight against discrimination, respect for the ethics of security activities, so far not recommended not use rubber bullets during public demonstrations “outside very exceptional cases” identified “strictly”.

Noting that its reserves were not included in the new framework for use of this weapon, the Defender now demand it is no longer used “in a context of public demonstrations”
