Windows 10: the differences between the versions – ZDNet France

While Microsoft has just put online a new build of Windows 10 in the “Fast Ring”, a preview that has “improved reliability, performance, battery life, and compatibility than any other pre-release of Windows 10 Insider until now. “The publisher has also worked to detail the technological differences between the different versions of its OS.

With a launch that great strides (29 July), the editor wishes to clarify its communication to not leave anyone by the wayside. Recall that Windows 10 is available in 4 versions:. Family, Pro, Enterprise, Education

These 4 declinations offer a broad common barter (Edge browser, assistant Cortana, Windows Hello, Continuum, Start menu) but have small differences to the so-called “professional” experience as opposed to use “basic”. Thus, the basic version includes logically few options “professional”, particularly in terms of administration and security as shown by the extracts of the table which we reproduce below.

Recall that Microsoft has to deliver, at the latest within two weeks, the RTM version of Windows 10, that is to say one that manufacturers equip their products, including PC.

In addition, Windows 10 Enterprise and Education will be available
in volume licensing as of 1 August. For Windows 10 Home and Pro, the
launch is scheduled on 29 July. Eligible users to a bet
free update will be served by the waves.
