The National Interministerial Road Safety Observatory (ONISR) also decreased the number of injury accidents (-15, 6%) and the number of people hospitalized for more than 24 hours after the accident (-18.6%). These are mostly users PTW who were spared with 42 lives saved last month compared to July 2013 The heaviest toll on the road was paid by drivers of passenger vehicle (6 killed) and cyclists (12 killed).

Continued rise of deaths since the beginning of the year

Despite these strong July, Road Safety calls for vigilance, noting the continued rise in the first six months of 2014 the number of deaths on the roads. The Government has launched many reforms (up radar and controls, decreased speed on certain roads) to reduce the number of deaths on the roads keeping in his sights the goal of increasing this figure to below 2000 deaths by 2020, against 3268 in 2013
