Numericable will settle its arrears to Paris, there will be no cut – L’Express

Numericable, SFR and the city of Paris, in conflict for several months concerning the fee for occupation of premises available, reached an agreement on the remaining amount owed by the operator to the community, said Thursday Paris City Hall. It ensures that it had reached an agreement with the company, which “has announced its decision to settle all its outstanding and withdraw its appeal to the administrative justice”.

New agreement

Numericable, SFR will also sign a new agreement with the City, which “will take into account the particular situation of the operator in terms of occupied spaces while respecting the applicable rates and the necessary principle of equity between operators. ” The previous agreement between the two parties had expired in February 2015, Hall criticized the operator to be the only one of the 17 operative in Paris, refusing to sign an agreement in 2009 which included an update day tariffs.

“This is a win-win agreement, we soldons the past and start a new basis for the future, Parisians will be able to continue to benefit from our network,” has for its part Jerome Yomtov congratulated General Secretary Numericable, SFR.

“Textbook case”

“The agreement is satisfactory, it helps to settle a dispute with the group, for the future we will work a fragmentation of space to accommodate the rent in actual occupation of public space “, for his part told AFP Vicherat Mathias, chief of staff of the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo. For the city, the agreement with the operator could figure “case study,” he said Vicherat. “In a constrained budgetary environment, we want to better optimize the use of public space, we will continue in this direction in the future,” he said.

The city reproached Numericable-SFR had not paid its full fee related to the provision of premises and public space and having to him a total of 8.37 million euros. She had given notice the operator to remove its equipment before August 10, announcing that on that date it take its own steps to withdraw if the situation was not regularized, which would have caused an interruption of service to subscribers Numericable, SFR. For its part, the operator had filed several appeals to challenge the balance of fees requested by the local community. The operator blamed the City not to take into account only the area actually occupied.
