The City of Paris and Numericable put an end to their litigation – The World

Numericable, SFR and the City of Paris, in conflict for several months concerning the fee for occupation of premises provided the first, reached an agreement on the remaining amount owed by the operator to the . community

The mayor of Paris said, Thursday, July 2, the company had:

“she assured her solderait EUR 8.37 million unpaid royalties and sign with the City a new agreement to occupy the public domain, in compliance with regulations. ”

The City reproached Numericable-SFR had not paid its full fee related to the provision of premises and public spaces. The operator had filed several appeals to challenge the royalty balance requested by the local community. The new agreement, signed by Numericable with the City

“will take account of the special situation of the operator in terms of occupied spaces while respecting the applicable rates and the necessary principle of equity between operators “.

The City of Paris had sent a letter on June 26 to the telecommunications operator requiring it to dismantle its facilities in the capital and to rehabilitate the premises occupied by the group, and before August 10 at the latest. This would have caused an interruption of service for Parisian subscribers of the operator, be it phone or television.

A dispute existed between the City of Paris SFR and Numericable-on appreciation sums to be paid by the operator in respect of rent for the occupation of premises used to deploy his Parisian network. The case dates back to 2009 and the refusal to sign Numericable, unlike other operators in Paris, an agreement that saw again rising rates of these fees. According to figures provided by the City of Paris, rents paid by Numericable should have increased by an average of 62,772 euros per year, which was not the case.

The City of Paris and Numericable being bound by an agreement signed in 2005, it is this that has been applied until maturity on 10 February 2014. And the group thus occupies currently places without right or title. If Numericable, SFR refused to sign the 2009 convention is that the group disagrees with the calculation method proposed by the city. “We want to pay the right price, that is to say, for the surface we actually use” says Jerome Yomtov. The secretary general of Numericable-SFR also said that his group invested “ massively in Paris and will continue to do so in the fiber as in 4G .”

To first dispute adds another on unpaid recognized by the City of Paris and covering a period from 2008 to 2013. The addition concerns as well as Numericable Completel, the services subsidiary to the operator’s business.
