Apple fixes the flaw with NTP Automatic Update – France Mobile

Two years after the introduction of the automatic update system for Mac OS. Apple for the first time sent an automatic update for its Mac to remedy the flaw of the NTP. However, according to many researchers in many terminals are also vulnerable to this flaw.

A researcher at Google recently unveiled the fault via NTP, a clock synchronization protocol for multiple terminals through a network. This flaw allowed to cause type attacks “DoS” (denial of service). In addition, explanations to exploit this vulnerability are available on the internet, and it seems they are not difficult to implement. The flaw in itself could be a real danger to corporate servers.

It is precisely to eliminate this danger that Apple chose to make an automatic update. OS X users thus received a notice explaining that an update of security systems was carried out earlier this week. Apple has set up an automatic update system because the vulnerability by NTP was too important to be overlooked.

According to Apple, the fault has not been used to attack computers of its customers. The firm Apple has obviously preferred to take the initiative to secure its operating system. However, the terminal in OS X would not be the only devices vulnerable to the fault of the Network Time Protocol.
