Strike at EasyJet: 38 flights canceled Friday again … notice – TF1

Traffic airline easyJet Friday recorded little disruption due to the strike hostesses and stewards, with 38 flights canceled on day, but the unions have announced a new movement for Eve. “A new strike call was sent to the company today to December 31 from 0:01 until 1 January at 23:59,” he told AFP Laurent Nicolas, Steward SNPNC-FO union majority, adding that the second union, the Unac was again associated with the movement.

Friday, the union spoke mobilization flight attendants “under French contract around 80% or even 90 % for basic Lyon. ” He said it is not aware of flight cancellations “hot”. The low-cost airline had indicated earlier that among the 185 flights operated by French crews in the day, 38 were affected, particularly affecting the airport of Lyon, where eight flights were canceled and eight on arrival, 35% of flights. According to a spokesman, the traffic was well in line with expectations after the strike call of SNPNC-FO and Unac to demand better working conditions.

total 1,200 flights are scheduled for the day by the company. EasyJet has limited cancellations by bringing in crews from Great Britain in particular, “on a voluntary basis,” said the spokesman. “It’s a way to break the strike,” said Eric Cunnac, head of Unac. Mr. Nicolas has also denounced “the mass mailing of flight attendants from abroad including the UK by a special flight” which took place Thursday, seafarers being “motivated by a premium that can go up to 110 pounds for the day “(about 140 euros).

The main demand of the unions concerns the organization of monthly schedules, although published in advance (the 17th of the previous month) but “less respected” with schedule changes “overnight” at the expense of personal privacy. “Today we are lean (…) when they take on another personal crew, it has a domino effect on other flights,” says Cunnac. The unions also rebelled against the inclusion of a new criterion, the “satisfaction” of the customer, in the allocation of an annual bonus, arguing that the bulk of passenger satisfaction is generated by the treatment that it receives the ground (registration, safety checks) provided by providers. “Our bonus in the form of shares of the company, already ridiculously low, will drop from 25% in April,” said the delegate.

EasyJet employs some 600 stewards and stewardesses on the thousand employees it has in France.
