Nokia is back! In a message posted on his official website, the famous Finnish company announced a comeback. “ We are proud to announce that the Nokia brand will return to the global market for smartphones and tablets ” brags the firm preamble a statement titled “ the answer to the question you you asked all . ”

Why such a return? Without question mark still powerful, anchored in the memory of almost all mobile users. “ We conducted a recent study showing that Nokia smartphones are among the five brands that smartphone buyers prefer, as they are not yet available ” indicates the firm.

Forgotten, however, Windows Phone and Symbian OS fire. Future Nokia smartphones will run on Android, but Nokia ‘ensures that they will have everything you expect from our terminals: quality, design and innovation. “

Goodbye Microsoft

It is not yet known when the mobile first arrive. But this return is rather comical. We thought we had finally said goodbye to Nokia mobile after the acquisition in 2014 of its handset business by Microsoft … Yesterday, however, we learned that Microsoft would sell part of what he had acquired Nokia -its activity “feature phones “- for $ 350 million to two companies: FIH Mobile, a subsidiary of Foxconn, and a mysterious company just founded HMD Global.

It turns out that the latter, based in Helsinki, 3km from the Nokia headquarters will also be responsible for sales, marketing and worldwide distribution of Nokia smartphones, which will grant the right to use its famous brand for smart phones. And will also get to ten years, the right to also use the name “Nokia” features for phones, previously owned by … Microsoft. FIH Mobile will look for its manufacture terminals.

Note that Nokia had already made a foray into tablets there are two years, with a very well made product, N1. It is hoped that future production will be to match. Welcome back, Nokia.
