Samsung now offers to lease its high-end smartphones – Le Figaro

Korean manufacturer launches Up2You a rental offer for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. But that is only of interest to those who have the habit of changing very regularly phone.

Samsung launches in turn in rental smartphones. The Korean manufacturer unveiled Thursday Up2You a rental formula for its high-end handsets, which can change phones frequently. For now, only the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are offered, from 27 euros per month, with an initial rent of 89 euros, and for a period of two years. After twenty-four months, the S7 has returned 710 euros instead of 699 euros to purchase.

The offer is interesting for those who change frequently phone. After four months minimum, the tenant may decide to exchange their device against the latest high-end brand. As Samsung launches one of these models every six months, the passionate consumer can repeat the process regularly.

The offer is for “young urban geek who love often change smartphone,” says Guillaume Berlemont. The marketing manager of Samsung mobility France could have added: and like Samsung. Up2You is also a good way to retain customers that constantly seeks to have the newest phones as a fashion accessory. Korean has also refined its “Switch” application to easily transfer their information from one terminal to another, even if this phone is a Samsung.

The Korean also expands service offering, since the lease, it adds two contracts, one with breakage insurance and the other with a breaking and theft insurance, which increases the rent of a few euros each time. Smartphones offered for rent are new, but once returned by the tenant, they will be repackaged to be sold on the market opportunity by Evolis, Samsung’s partner in this operation.

L offer does present however no interest to those who keep their smartphone more than eighteen months. Indeed, the amount of rent and the first monthly installment are relatively high. And after 24 months, once the tenant has paid as much as the price of the phone, it does not belong. He must return the … or change. Samsung is also 10 to 15% of its customers with Up2You, well aware that it is for a small segment of the population, accustomed to renew often the terminal.
