4G: the bad pupil France in terms of coverage – Begeek.fr

OpenSignal just revealed the figures in its study on 4G in the world for the 4 th quarter 2015 French operators accelerate network deployment but remain lags behind many other countries. The figures are sometimes very different from those of the ARCEP, the computing system is not the same. However France is in the top of the table with regard to the speed of 4G.

At the global level, France class 61 th in terms of 4G coverage. It’s Bouygues Telecom is leading with 63%, then comes Orange with 61% and 3 rd position we find SFR 58%. Free is dead last with only 32%. These figures do not represent national coverage but the time spent connected to the 4G network operators. In the world is South Korea which is in first place with 97%, japan occupies the 2 nd place with 90% and Hong Kong the 3 rd with 86%.

in terms of 4G speeds, France is far better placed and is in the top of the table with an average of 18 Mbps. Free Mobile is the best operator with 24 Mbps, Orange is in 2 nd place with 19 Mbps and comes with 16 Mbps Bouygues Telecom and SFR finally with 10 Mbps. Globally Singapore tops with an impressive 37 Mbps, then follow New Zealand with 29 Mbps and Hungary with 28 Mbps.



The 4G stronger connections as WiFi

OpenSignal also provides a comparison between WiFi and 4G. astonishing result: the average speed of 4G is much higher than that of a WLAN. Indeed, it reached 13.5 Mbps for 4G against 6 Mbps and 3.5 Mbps WiFi 3G. 4G is generally faster than WiFi networks. The box offered by operators have progress to make in that area.
