Google would present its new VR headset this year – Clubic

Google projects in the field of virtual reality take shape increasingly with a planned new helmet this year.

The rumors are rife about the work of Google in the field of virtual reality. In recent weeks, the company created a new division specifically responsible for carrying out these projects and job offers some suggest that the Mountain View company intends to produce a new, more advanced helmet that simply Cardboard unveiled in June 2014.

in March, we learned that Google planchait on a version of Android designed for virtual reality, and the pieces seem to be falling into place.

in fact, the Financial Time reports that the Californian company intends to more precisely position themselves in Gear VR Samsung, that is to say with headphones still need to plug it a smartphone to take advantage of the screen and the computing power.

the Gear VR is only compatible with some Samsung smartphones on the one hand, and with applications approved by the Korean manufacturer other. For its part, Google working on a headset compatible with a greater number of smartphones to reach immediately a wider audience.

For now, it is unclear if this helmet will have additional sensors support from those on the phone – like the Gear VR – but the California firm well plancherait on a new version of its Android mobile system, which would offer more advanced than a simple Cardboard enforcement experience. This would help to reduce the rate of latency between the user’s head movement and movement of virtual images often resulting in headaches or nausea.

According to the Financial Times , the fruits of this work will be unveiled later this year.
