YouTube : place to the direct video in 4K up to 60 fps – ITespresso.fr

YouTube tent of its stand out from its competitors by the quality of the video. The video-sharing platform of Google ad indeed support 4K / UHD (2160p) for the “live streaming” (that is to say, the live broadcast of the videos).

Google reminds us, in a contribution to the blog, have begun to support streaming video, starting in 2010. What could be more natural than going to 4K, after having experienced the past year.

If this seems logical, it is not trivial to make that leap since it is broadcast 4 times more pixels per second. All in all, the definition reaches more than 8 million pixels (at a rate of 3 840 × 2 160 pixels for the UHD) compared to 2 million for the Full HD.

The exercise is all the more remarkable in that it is the display at 60 frames per second (fps), a frame rate reserved at 1080p, the 4K being rather refreshed at a rate of 30 fps (in the case of many smartphones that support the video recording in 4K).

live streaming of videos to 360 degrees is also concerned since the support of the 4K at 60 fps the also includes.

The image quality as well as the fluidity will be waiting for you. This is one more argument for YouTube, which was announced last month, support for HDR (High Dynamic Range) and then one of the videos in VR mode (virtual reality).

It must be said that the market for live streaming is in full effervescence, with players such as Facebook Live and Periscope (owned by Twitter). The two services are satisfied, however, a maximum quality of broadcast peaking at the definition 720 (8 times fewer pixels than the 4K) at 30 fps.

But, it is rather Twitch (platform acquired by Amazon in 2014 for $ 970 million), which is referred to by Google. However, the very popular streaming service is limited to the resolution of Full HD, because of a bandwidth should not exceed the 3.5 Mbit/s imposed on the streamer for Twitch.

But, YouTube is not the first streaming service to offer 4K because Hitbox has started to bear this definition in 2015.

To form an opinion on the quality of the streaming 4K at 60 fps, Youtube has invited users to view the ceremony of the Game Awards, which was broadcast live on the 1st of December.
