PARIS (Reuters) – The media group Le Figaro has been appointed by the Paris commercial court to resume the professional social network Viadeo, placed into receivership at the end of November, announced Friday the two companies.
the editor of The daily Le Figaro had presented, via its subsidiary, online small ads Figaro Classified, an offer of an amount of € 1.5 million for the French group, whose market capitalization has shrunk in recent years, crushed by the competition of giant LinkedIN.
In total, six bids were filed before the commercial court for the company, which employs nearly 130 people.
“The offer of resumption of Figaro Classified retained by the commercial court of Paris had all the guarantees ensuring the sustainability of the disposed business”, says Linkedin in a press release, adding that the proposal had received the support of the management and employees of Viadeo.
The Figaro precise his side have the intention to return to 78 workers and 20 people in a workshop or alternating.
