TECHNOLOGY It was more of a hobby, and not a commercial product…
Every year, Mark Zuckerberg sets a challenge. After having learned mandarin, he had a promise to create an intelligent assistant for the home. He has presented to the world Jarvis (as the butler to Tony Stark in Iron Man), Tuesday. And if it seems to be a lot of fun, its creation does not perform that task very limited.
Big disclaimer, the videos below are funny (and rather awkward). It is an illustration of the concept, with the voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Morgan Freeman.

To find out what Jarvis is really capable of, it is necessary to err on the side of the post technique to the boss of Facebook. He spent approximately 100 hours at his hobby, developing a platform for speech recognition, textual and visual. Jarvis is able to control the lighting of the house, the thermostat, the front door, a toaster hacked and play music. The Alexa Home, the wizards, Amazon and Google, are already doing all of that and much more as they are open to developers.
But to compare the project of Mark Zuckerberg with commercial products that have mobilized tens of engineers is rather unfair. The boss of Facebook wanted first family fun and learn more about the artificial intelligence. He realized that the house still lacks many standards to connect all of the objects, and that there are many semantic nuances of the language complicated to interpret.
For the moment, he does not share his creation because Jarvis is customized to his house in Palo Alto. To be clear, he does not want that hackers are coming to steal. Go, it is hard but accomplish all this in a hundred hours remains out of reach of ordinary mortals.
