Android Wear 2.0, the mobile OS at the destination of the smartwatchs designed by Google, is now officially deployed. The first two watches to benefit are the LG Watch Style and LG Watch Sports, but one of the older smartwatchs Android Wear will also be entitled, at the option of the updates from their manufacturer in the year. Google has released the list of affected devices.

After long months of beta-testing (this new version has been announced in the month of may last, on the occasion of the Google I/O In 2016), Android Wear 2.0 is now officially available in its final version. For the users of watches on Android Wear, this should not change much in the short term. It is not Google that handles the updates of the various smartwatchs in the market, but of their builders. Some, however, are already committed to upgrade their watches. Here is the list of devices that will receive Android Wear 2.0 in “in the coming weeks ” according to the press release of Google.

updates all of these watches will be installed automatically via updates to tell Over the Air (OTA). The user has nothing other to do than wait for a notification to notify of the availability of Android Wear 2.0

What’s new for Android Wear 2.0 ?

Android Wear 2.0 will focus mainly on the interface and functionality directly integrated in the watch. The Play Store will be available directly on the watch (it had previously systematically go through the smartphone for the download), new standby screens customizable with widgets, third-party applications) will make their appearance, and a virtual keyboard will finally be available to more easily respond to messages.

Two features of Android Wear 2.0 will, however, not integrated into the watches French : Android Pay, the functionality of the contactless payment via NFC, as well as Google Wizard – the same as the Google Pixel, which is still not localized in French.
