LG and Google join forces for the first watches connected to Android Wear 2.0 – LSA

More urban than the model LG Watch Sports, the LG Watch Style is available in silver, titanium and rose gold.

LG Electronics and Google have announced through a press release dated February 8, 2017 the first smartwatch equipped with the operating system Android Wear 2.0. Presented officially at the Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona from 27 February to 2 march next year, these two new watches connected are dubbed the LG Watch Sports and LG Watch Style. “Android Wear 2.0 is designed to improve and accelerate the taking in hand of this watch is smart, including the appearances of the watch that put available data, an e-mail is fast and fluid, and a new experience of physical exercise,” said David Singleton, vice-president of Android Engineering, Google. The Wizard of Google is embedded in the two watches, and the LG Watch Sport allows the use of Android Pay with NFC technology. The two firms state that the user interface has been improved, as well as the features of mail plus and sport training (Google Fit). Users can also reply to a message via a Sm art Reply, set a memory aid, or to ask their way, by holding down the power button or by saying the classic “Ok, Google“. The user can also download their favorite apps directly from the Google Play Store built-in on the watch. The customizable interface of the watch allows up to eight different configurations.

A sports model, a model urban

The LG Watch Sport is the first watch wristband Android Wear that uses Snapdragon Wear 2100 offering the 4G LTE connectivity. It can run applications without a smartphone and has a built-in GPS, a handy feature for runners and athletes. The device is composed of a round screen and luminous 35 mm P-OLED display with glass Gorilla Glass 3rd generation, and a case made of 316L stainless steel and strap in thermoplastic polyurethane for resistance to dust and water level IP68. More urban, the LG Watch Style is available in silver, titanium and rose gold. Its interchangeable straps with instantaneous fixation which allow the users to customize the watch. Its casing 10.79 mm thickness is thin enough to pass under the channel.

These references will be available in the United States as early as 10 February, and quite fast in Europe and Asia in the Google play Store and specialty shops approved, according to information provided by LG. The sale price and details of purchase will be announced locally when the product will be available.
