Facebook is testing in France messages that disappear after one hour – The Express

An hour only. Facebook now allows users to send French through its Messenger application, messages that disappear soon after the recipient has read, modeled on those of Snapchat. “We make a little test in France of an application that allows people to send messages that disappear one hour after they are sent,” said a spokesman for the social network.

“Messages that disappear give people the choice of another fun option when communicating on Messenger,” she said. The test is conducted on versions of Messenger application designed for Apple and Android mobile devices. If success is with go, the function could be extended to other countries.

In direct competition with Snapchat

Snapchat is now one of the most unlisted startups in Silicon Valley views. According to US media, Facebook tried to buy it back in 2013 to three billion dollars, but this offer was rejected and the social network had finally acquire another messaging application WhatsApp.
