More headphone output for the next iPhone – CNET France

Over headphone output for the next iPhone

In its frenzy to impose its proprietary connectors, and only them, on its devices, Apple could remove an immutable yet taken on all smartphones and iPhone have all known until now: the jack. The next generation iPhone, currently known under the name iPhone 7, could ignore the 3.5 mm audio output, according to the Japanese site Mac Otakara whose information was analyzed by MacRumors.

This is of course the Lightning connector that would replace, making increasingly serves as the universal connector on the Apple smartphone. It is indeed already charging and USB connection. Obviously, this removal of the jack lead to the advent of a new generation of headphones with Earpods Lightning outlet. Lightning adapter / jack could also emerge, while Bluetooth headphones take more and more importance in the ecosystem of the iPhone.

But it is not for the pleasure of creating new earphones that Apple remove the jack of the iPhone 7. His absence would create a hull even finer than that of the iPhone 6. The thickness of the Apple smartphone would increase from 7.1 to 6.1 millimeters.
