Facebook launches SDK for Apple TV – Clubic

The community giant Facebook wants to position itself in the living room. To do this, the company announced a development kit for tvOS.

Facebook, which already flooded most mobile devices with multiple applications, now wants to position itself at the heart of the show. To do so, the firm of Mark Zuckerberg announced the availability of a new development kit.

Entering text on the Apple TV is a fairly daunting procedure. But often, the applications require authentication. We must manually enter his user name and password several times. Strangely enough, this is Facebook simplifying the authentication device. In some ways, Facebook takes the problem to his advantage.

Just like Facebook Connect, it will actually be possible to add an application to an identification module. The user has will select that option on the screen and then, on his smartphone, enter the code displayed on television at facebook.com/device .

This SDK, currently in beta, also proposes an option to easily share the content with the user’s contacts, be they links, photos or videos. Note also an analysis tool allowing publishers to better determine the hearing of their applications and how they are used by consumers.
