The headset HoloLens of Microsoft marketed in France – The Digital

manufacturer Microsoft has finally decided to market the development kit HoloLens in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The rate is still too high and the availability is announced for the end of November. Released in the month of August last year, the United States and Canada, the development kit Microsoft HoloLens is now available in France, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, England, Australia, and New Zealand. In Europe, the development kit, called Commercial, is sold for 3 299 € and the delivery is scheduled for the end of the month of November. It should be possible to place an order as soon as tomorrow, but remember that there are no applications or commercial games ; just demonstrations. The development kit is mainly aimed at businesses and developers who want to get their hands on the tools Windows Holographic offered by Microsoft.

The concept of HoloLens is different from that of the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, or the PS VR. Mid-way between the pair of glasses and the headset, the Hololens is an independent object, with its own processor (an Intel Atom 4 cores clocked 1.04 GHz) and an HPU (Holographic Processing Unit), a coprocessor, in charge of the recognition of the movements and the voice. It also carries 2 Gb of ram and 64 Gb of storage. For the sound part, Microsoft has opted for two small speakers located on both sides of the device, which avoids the isolation of sound from the user. We have already been able to test this headset with applications that promise to be very promising, even if it remains very far from the stock exchanges to the general public.
