The Nao robot is tested as a client advisor at Darty – Clubic

Aldebaran Robotics has signed a partnership with Philips Darty and to use his Nao robot as a customer adviser. An experiment took place in a shop in Paris.

After a television role plays Nao client advisors for Darty. Aldebaran Robotics, the developer of the robot has signed a partnership with the retail chain. Integrated with an area dedicated to connected devices, it is responsible for the presentation of Hue bulbs from Philips.

The device tested in the store in République in Paris is simple. If several people are present around the robot, it will start a pre-recorded demo about bulbs connected in the Hue range. Several scenarios have been programmed.

Nao was able to control the lighting in question and to switch them depending on the color desired by the customer. The robot is also able to alert a true advisor who will be notified through a notice on its tablet.

This experiment took place during a weekend. However, it could be repeated in other shops of Darty chain in the coming weeks.
