Windows 10: Update Anniversary finally scheduled August 2? – ZDNet France

Small blunder Microsoft aside or simple mistake? On Tuesday, some could see a curious blog post from Microsoft since it contained no text but a title that has reacted: “Microsoft announced the availability of the anniversary update Windows 10 to August 2″ .

Remember that this first major update of the OS, also known as the Redstone code name, is supposed to be thrust on July 29, one year after the official launch of Windows 10. This date appears in the slides of the publisher for the conference WinHEC (Windows Hardware Engineering conference).

the ticket has obviously been removed but for observers, date of August 2 has meaning because it falls on a Tuesday . But Redmond traditionally grows its updates, including its security patches, always a Tuesday

The update Anniversary Update will also be deployed at another major event. The end of free Windows 10. After July 29, Microsoft provides in principle to make this edition of Windows fee ($ 119 for the Home version and 199 for the Pro).

Remember that Redstone should highlight the Continuum function, introduce the interpreter Ubuntu commands allow support for extensions for Edge and propose a revamped Start menu.
