Its inventor describes it as “the first car that fits in a bag” . Cocoa Motors introduced a new model of personal transporter, in July. Halfway between the Segway and skateboarding, the “WalkCar” was developed by a Japanese engineer of 26, Kuniako Saito. The latter aims to revolutionize urban transport.

Weighing between two and three kilos, according to its versions, the “WalkCar” is capable of supporting up to 120 kg, according to Reuters (English) cited by Slate.fr. To operate it, simply mount it. To stop it, just get off. And to change direction, simple body movements enough, according Kuniako Saito.

Despite its small size, “WalkCar” has a powerful enough engine to help tow or push different objects. It could thus be used by handlers or assistants of people with reduced mobility. Small snag, however:. The size of its wheels, small and quite fragile, which make its improper use on rough terrain

“WalkCar” should be on sale from spring 2016 for a price about 750 euros. In addition to traditional skateboards and scooters, it will have many technologically advanced competitors: the Segway, the Winglet Toyota and Volkswagen equivalent, or even the MonoRover R2, the wheels are higher but shows like “WalkCar “the characteristic of not having a handlebar.
