This former helicopter pilot, first Briton to stay at the station, took the products prepared by the company Finisterian Hénaff, famous for its block.



Braised beef and apple tatin

The company based in Pouldreuzic was selected by the UK Space Agency to can the dishes prepared by the English chef Heston Blumenthal, 3 Michelin stars and specialist in molecular cuisine and specially designed for the astronaut. On the menu: stewed beef with mushrooms and truffles, sausages with onions, rillettes of salmon bacon sandwich, chicken curry, lemon tart or tatin apples.

If Timothy Peake will make his first trip to the station, Hénaff is already known him there. In 2013, the brand’s block had been selected by the National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) to feed astronauts on the International Space Station. She then worked with the chef Alain Ducasse.

Le Hénaff pâté also love the sea

The constraints of life aboard the station impose stringent conditions industrial retained. The products must have a very low moisture content not to generate bubbles, make no crumbs to not block the ventilation systems and above all show no bacteria, so as not to contaminate the station.
