Two years after their presentation, the Mountain View firm announced January 15 the suspension of production and sale of its augmented reality glasses. But a second version has just made its appearance and stimulus speculation machine around this flagship product.

The regulatory authority of the US telecom (FFC) has just published a patent filed by Google last May, which reveals the contours of a 2.0 version of the Google Glass. The project was probably developed in the mysterious “Project Aura” developed by Google and consists of engineers from the lab 126 Amazon, the sector in charge of R & amp;. D at the e-commerce giant

A version for companies

This new version would approach over the monocle as glasses since the documents published by the FFC show a frame that would hold onto only one side of the head, and therefore an eye – right or left. The design has been redesigned, is also waterproof and foldable, so more convenient to carry. These Google Glass would otherwise have a larger screen and the on / off switch would be located him on the back.

As for performance, these glasses would have, according to specialized site 9to5Google, better battery and an additional external battery, an Intel Atom processor and a wireless antenna 5Ghz.

However, the documents Patents are proven and nothing indicates that the final versions and will be faithful to this new version. Google has so far officially nothing. Especially as the new augmented reality glasses could initially only be intended to companies. They should be distributed via the Google for Work program and are already in many hands, according to sources cited by 9to5Google.
