Windows 10: more than 200 million installations – Clubic

The latest system of Microsoft would have surpassed the 200 million installations worldwide since its official release.

24 hours of its availability, the Windows 10 operating system was installed 14 million machines. A month later, Yusulf Medhi, vice president of the Windows and Devices Division stated via his Twitter account that the new system had been installed on 75 million PCs.

In early October, Terry Myerson, vice President at Microsoft, communicated on sales of 110 million installations. According to the specialized website Winbeta.org, five months after its release, the system is now installed on over 200 million devices.

On average, then dénombrerait 40 million new installations each month. The question is whether Microsoft will confirm the new figure officially and if the rate of adoption of Windows 10 will continue to accelerate. Recall that the update is still free for holders of a valid license of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Also, Microsoft is just beginning to diversify its range of smartphones running Windows Mobile 10.

By 2018, Microsoft intends to reach the symbolic milestone of one billion devices running on Windows 10.
