Fake bomb threat: a passenger flight AF463 placed in custody – Liberation

Just landed, already embedded. A retired police officer of 58 years, passenger of Air France flight aboard which was discovered a suspicious object was placed into custody Monday at his return to Paris, according to a police source contacted by Agence France Presse. Kenyan demining services have been extracted and, after analysis, claimed it was a fake bomb. “ A set consisting of cardboard, paper and a timer species ,” said Frédéric Gagey, CEO of Air France, Sunday afternoon. “ There was nothing that showed dangerous.

Some of the 459 passengers were repatriated on Sunday evening and Monday morning landed at Roissy Charles de-Gaulle at 6:50, on board the flight AF4195. Border police then arrested a man, “ in the context of the investigation following the complaint made to the obstruction to the movement of aircraft and endangering the lives of others , “said the prosecutor of Bobigny. According to the crew, the arrested man had made many return trips to the toilet during the flight, told AFP a police source. His wife was also arrested and heard as a witness.

On Sunday, the supper were brought to the persons on board the aircraft. Frédéric Gagey had said Sunday that cabin crew had checked all the cupboards before take-off, including the toilets. “ As there was a visit before the flight and we did not find, I think that the object was probably placed there during the flight ,” added the CEO .
