While persistent rumors mention the abandonment of the jack on the iPhone 7 to make it thinner and circulated a petition successfully to retain the connector (over 217 000 signatures) it would be possible that Apple simply book a Bluetooth headset with its future smartphone. Indeed, the manufacturer has since 2014 Beats headphones builder and would have made a request to file the AirPods brand. This brand name reminds of Apple EarPods headphones book example with 6s iPhone. According to the site 9to5Mac, the headphones are completely wireless, ie no cables would connect the left and the right side, and would benefit from an induction load. The question is whether they would come standard or as an option with the iPhone 7. Indeed, headphones of this type already exist in the manufacturer Bragi and expensive (about 300 euros for the Dash).
Motorola offers for its part the Hint, which has only one ear and is more like the atrium, for 130 euros.
Apple could deliver a Lightning version EarPods
The other track would then a special version of EarPods which would connect to the iPhone with the Lightning connector. Since 2014, the connection of headphones through this program is part of the Made For iPhone / iPad / iPod (MFi) for accessories. Still, the audio sent by the Port Lightning signal is digital. It will therefore either have a helmet incorporating a digital / analog converter or of an adapter cable with this converter for use with a traditional analog headset. Note that for now Beats has released any model with a Lightning connector.
However, other rumors mention the fact that Apple has not yet finalized the design of the iPhone 7. Then the device he ultimately will have a headphone jack or not? Stay tuned …
