The first exterior detail that differentiates it from its predecessors Galaxy S6 range is the optical rear camera, which exceeds very little the back cover (0.46 mm). If Samsung took over at pretty much the aesthetic characteristics of the S6 Edge Plus, in a case of glass and metal.

Navigating through the different screens and applications is not only very fluid, but very nice. The ergonomics of the user interface is particularly good.

The installation of the first applications has led to a small rise in temperature, felt in the back of the Galaxy S7 Edge, but nothing to worry about.

with the Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung has finally listened to its customers and the corrected shot following numerous complaints suffered by the Galaxy S6, restoring the memory card reader, by inserting a slightly more muscular battery to allow greater autonomy, and with the restoration of sealing (IP68).

If the Galaxy S7 Edge is not left side with innovations:

When test different Galaxy S6, I found that the fingerprint reader was not very responsive, do not see the unlocked smartphone in many attempts. During this test, I found the Galaxy S7 Edge rather reactive, and cases of failure (where the password input is required) is much less common than with his elder.

1 – Internet and written

Like all its predecessors, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is a very good communicating.

The web browsing is very fluid and comfortable thanks to its gorgeous 5.5 inch screen.

Whether to browse the Internet, send or receive messages (SMS, MMS, Mail, chat, …) the Galaxy S7 Edge perfectly executed everything we asked and this in real time. No delays were noted, except the time necessary connections to the network.

Many email messaging can be created and managed in Application “eMail” with great ease … although Yahoo mail addresses do not work well with e-mail settings proposed by default.

The contents in HTML format are perfectly supported.

It is possible to make a screenshot by simultaneously pressing the “oN / OFF” and “Home.”

attachments to E.Mail can be downloaded in memory of the Galaxy S7 Edge, then read or modified.

the virtual keyboard comes standard is ergonomic and offers a fairly comfortable entering information. The words proposed by the dictionary are very relevant. By cons, unlike announced by Samsung, rapid capture does not necessarily imply that moving objects are rendered properly (there are usually quite blurry).

for cons, indoors in total darkness, the photos are of a very high brightness, and a pretty amazing sharpness, which is rare in such a context. In terms of pictures taken outside night, in the dark, the quality and brightness are quite variable, but overall the captured images suggest some details (the flash range is rather limited in this context).

many settings and modes of capture are available. It is even possible to download other modes of capture on the online shop of Samsung.

The front sensor incorporates 5 megapixel, which allows to achieve good quality selfies.

The photo function is activated also by a double tap on the home screen (when enabled).

the quality of the captured video is quite good overall, whether by day or in the dark, even though the focus is a little slower when the catch is made in the dark with the flash.

“Live video streaming” mode allows you to capture videos, while publishing its live content on YouTube

4. – The GPS function

with a chip-GPS, Google Maps and many other downloadable free and paid applications via Play Store, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has all the tools necessary to locate, find its way, locating many points of interest around you.

for navigation, Maps provides several routes with approximate time of travel between two places, and how to get there by different means (car, bike, public transport, walking, taxi, Uber).

As usual, navigation is effective. The visual and voice guidance are quite precise and quite faithful to the reality on the ground. When navigating, small blues bubbles appear on the screen to indicate the names of the streets in which we will engage. You can view the status of traffic, or navigate a satellite mode.

Google Maps also allows you to locate on a map, and learn about the different brands or services nearby, contact details, start navigation to the desired location.

navigation side nevertheless I always prefer to use “Waze” another Google app, which is much more “interactive”.

5 – other uses

in addition to the conventional applications installed by Google in standard, Samsung also provided some applications, or allows to download on its online store.

with 4 GB of RAM, a power that explodes all scores AnTuTu tests if one believes certain sites, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge offers many uses, ranging from the console to all types of games, even the most intensive computing power, reading of streaming movies or video editing

6 -. the other communication features

telephony side, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is a good phone. The sound communication is good.

The sensitivity to the network looks pretty good.

side autonomy, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge incorporates a battery 3600 mAh to allow a theoretical range of two days. In use, on a fairly regular use but not necessarily supported (mail, social networks, photo capture, web browsing, games, music or video playback, using simple games, …), the Galaxy S7 Edge takes into broadly overnight, mid-day, even by activating the “Always on Display”, which however leads to additional consumption.

The battery is much more powerful than its elder, the Galaxy S6. However, note that disabling notifications for most applications and background data were carried out beforehand. The battery recharges fairly quickly via the standard delivered reader. The battery can also be recharged via a wireless charger to the Qi standard

The Galaxy S7 Edge is an excellent smartphone.

Beautiful, elegant, fine, upscale, design, fast, fun to use, fairly autonomous … are many superlatives come to mind when I saw the hands.

compared to Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung has made great efforts to meet the expectations of its customers, but side autonomy I think the Korean manufacturer can go even further.

Marketed at the launch of 799 euros, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is the – really? When we see the prices of the competition, especially by Chinese manufacturers, offering top smartphones of high-performance range below 500 euros, it begs the question …
