The prosecution requested today the rejection of the appeal of Christine Lagarde against his dismissal before the Court of Justice of the Republic for negligence in the case of arbitration rendered in favor of Bernard Tapie in 2008.
the Supreme Court will issue its decision on 22 July. The Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had been returned in December before the Court of Justice against a decision which it had decided to appeal. The investigation panel of the Court of Justice of the Republic decided that dismissal of the former Economy Minister Nicolas Sarkozy (2007-2011) for “negligence which results in a misuse of public funds by a private individual” in a case involving Bernard Tapie.
the businessman and his wife, their companies and their liquidators were sentenced in December 2015 to repay the 404 million euros paid under the arbitration that had ended their dispute with Crédit Lyonnais on the resale of Adidas. Bernard Tapie himself Thursday lost an appeal against that decision before the Court of Cassation. Christine Lagarde says he always acted in this matter in the interest of the state and in compliance with the law
