Apple could consider producing the iPhone in the US ? – ZDNet France

The giants like Apple do they contribute enough to the real economy, or not care about that-they only pay their shareholders and their managers ? The firm has often been on the grill on the issues of taxation and relocation.

No other company does not produce profits such as those of the firm of Cupertino. This gives him does he have homework ? It is possible, even if it is not within the law. The leaders of Apple are concerned, therefore, the image of the company.

The iPhone, but the iPhone may be

The preservation of this image-does it by a relocation of jobs in the United States ? According to the media the japanese Nikkei Asian Review, which cites an anonymous source, Apple would have asked two subcontractors, asian, assembling the terminals to consider the possibility of moving production to the US.

This query would have been sent to Foxconn Technology and Pegatron in June, before the outcome of the elections to the us presidential election. The elected candidate, Donald Trump, was taken for target Apple during his campaign by promising to compel the production on the national territory.

“We’ll get Apple build it their damn computers and shit in this country rather than in other countries.” For this, the candidate elected should change the law or playing on taxation.

But a relocation of the complete production of the iPhone in the US is it possible ? For questions of costs, this appears unlikely. According to the Nikkei Asian Review, the cost of an iPhone would more than double if it was made in the United States.

The shareholders of Apple, would appreciate some see the melting of the margins of the handset manufacturer to be the most profitable in the world.

The fiasco of the relocation of the screens of iPhone

Make financial calculations doesn’t involve Apple and its sub-contractors. A scenario could be envisaged, and indeed has already been implemented by the firm to another of its products, namely the Mac in 2012.

The giant can, in fact, consider assembling a fraction of the iPhone in the US. Tim Cook did not fail to publicise this relocation in 2012, promising then 100 million euros of investment.

However, in reality, only a small number of Macs have as well been stamped “computer assembled in USA”. Has the key, and, at best, 200 jobs created. Apple might as well with the iPhone offer a similar operation, without jeopardizing its finances.

This rest of the assumptions and, to date, no smartphone Apple made in the USA is for sale. Apple could just as well be content, like other multinationals, to state that his activities have contributed to the creation of numerous jobs (1.9 million in the US in 2015).

jobs the number of which he will not take from those supposed to arise from the relocation of a portion of the output screens of iPhone. These operations were to be carried out through a partnership with GT Advanced Technologies. It was, however, bankrupt in 2014 and revealed on this occasion the contractual terms and conditions “unfair and burdensome” imposed on Apple.
