HTC 10 evo : a high-end smartphone… with a processor from last year – 01net.com

A high-end smartphone of 2016 with a processor of 2015. This is in essence what is offered by HTC with its new model name evo 10. Running on Android 7 Nougat, it is indeed equipped with the SoC Snapdragon 810.

A platform is certainly top of the range, but marketed by Qualcomm for 2015 and that was a good part of the flagships released this year. He had often been accused of being evil was born : he heated up a lot and consume too much energy, thus reducing the autonomy of the smartphones that used it.

jack

Despite this strange choice, the rest of the configuration of the HTC evo 10 flirts well with the configurations high-end : 5.5-inch display Super LCD 3 showing a definition QHD (1 440 x 2 560 pixels) and a resolution of 534 pixels-per-inch, 32 Gb of storage, expandable to 2tb via microSD card and 3 Gb of RAM. On the network side, it is equipped with a 4G model of class 6, allowing a theoretical speed of downloading 300 Mb/s.

Its battery provides a capacity of 3200 mAh, uses a USB Type-C and is completely devoid of jack. Its photo sensor of 16 megapixels is equipped with an optical stability with an aperture of f/2.0 and has a focal length of 28 mm. The HTC evo 10 meets standard IP57 to ensure its seal.

An international version of the Bolt

If it is present on the French site of the manufacturer, no availability date or price have yet been disclosed. Its price of $ 599 across the Atlantic, however, remains a good index. It would therefore be sold at a price higher than the one to which we can now find the HTC 10, equipped with a processor Snapdragon 820 of the last generation.

Because this HTC evo 10 is in fact a clone of the Bolt, marketed exclusively for the past few days by the american operator Sprint. His name is pulled out of a partnership with the runner jamaican Usain Bolt, which lends him the image of her speed. For endurance on the other hand, we revert.
