Red YouTube: streaming fee ($ 9.99) but without advertising – ZDNet France

 Its popularity, YouTube has to free its access by providing a large number of videos. But Google has nevertheless felt that there was room for a paid declination YouTube.

Red YouTube is YouTube subscription version. Per month, and as of October 28 in the US, users will be able to opt for this new service. Note that it will be a free trial period for one month initially.

Then, users must pay a monthly $ 9.99 subscription. And the price in euros? It is not announced yet, Red being marketed in the US only. But Google plans to subsequently extend the availability to all countries where YouTube is proposed.

In exchange for a paid subscription, so users benefit from an advertising-free service. But is that the only difference with the classic YouTube? No, because Google is not alone on the streaming market and the price in direct competition with players like Netflix and Hulu.

The Mountain View company has also planned YouTube-specific features Red. Paying members will be able to save videos on smartphone or tablet to view offline.

Google also states that certain content will be exclusive to Red YouTube. Finally the subscription is multi-terminal applications and integrate YouTube with YouTube Gaming and future application, available soon, YouTube Music.

This last app will be launched by the end of the year. She will be

 Music YouTube without advertising and the ability to listen to
 music in the background and offline.

Paid a business “difficult”
