We knew that Facebook wanted to make Messenger a platform, but it was not expected necessarily that the number one of the social networks is also of this messaging app for a platform of video games. Yet, this is what has been announced yesterday evening. Facebook launches Instant Games, a feature that allows you to play games like PAC-MAN, GALAGA or SPACE INVADER directly in the conversations.

As you can see on the video presentation below, to launch a game, it is enough to open a conversation with one or more friends, and then click on a new icon video game which has been added above the text field for messages. Then, it remains only to choose a game and… play. No installation is required on the part of the user.

Facebook had already tested the games on Messenger (a basketball game, a football game to celebrate the Euro and a chess game). But it was only the easter eggs, or hidden features. This time, it is real functionality.

Unfortunately, these games will only be for the moment available only in 30 countries and only for users who use a smartphone Android or iOS fairly recent.

Facebook Messenger currently has more than a billion users. And the number one social network hope that through these little games, it will encourage these users to interact with advantage. On the other hand, Facebook wrote that it is already planning to add more games to this new platform (launching 17 titles are available) as well as new ways to play.

Otherwise, these games may also be regarded as an extension of the feature Apps In Messenger. In 2015, Facebook has launched this feature that has made its messaging service as a platform for which developers can create applications. And of course, since this year, Messenger is also a platform for the bot, as developers can already create bots that interact automatically with their audiences via the pages of Facebook.
